At first I thought this book was about another love story. I needed a light reading after office hours, and didn't want to read anything that force me to think hard.
Meet me at the Cupcake Cafe by Jenny Colgan.
It's a story about what happen when you pursue your dreams. When you follow your passion of life. Not always a great picture though.
It's about Issy Randall, who's made redundant from her safe corporate job, choose to jump into baking business. Well, baking is her passion (and talent). But the business? Imagine about marketing, dealing with local bank manager to get loan, paperworks, rent, employee, you name it.
And also a love story. :)
An inspirational book. And these lines had slapped me in my face.
"... You have talents and skills but I just don't see where they've been used with you running around chasing up expenses and timesheets. It's like you just wanted to hide away doing something safe and a little dull, hoping nobody would notice you."This book had forced me to think afterwards. To think about my own life.
"... And I will say that if you end up doing the same job for someone else... I think you'll probably be as dissatisfied there as you have been here."
